Who We Are & What We Do

Mission

No Scraps Unlimited is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping, inspiring, and keeping people on the right track for a second chance.

We do so by feeding the homeless, helping the less fortunate, and creating opportunities and training courses for ex-offenders trying and wanting to do more with their second chance. Working hands-on with prison reform and recidivism, showing inmates and ex-offenders there is a life after the storm waiting for them.

NOSU’s main goal is to give hope to individuals who feel like they have been forgotten or looked over in life. We feel that prison reform does not stop or start at the prison. The mission is to give people a reason and chance to live, and truly find rehabilitation in life.

65% of people who enter the prison system return to prison, because they feel that the odds are against them and they have no choice but to return to the life they knew. Being treated like outcasts or scraps that no one wants. NOSU wants to change that narrative.

We do this by

  • Creating training programs to continue educating and giving them the tools needed to become productive members of society.

  • Feeding the homeless and the less fortunate.

  • Putting together traveling hygiene packs and treating every individual as a Human being.

NOSO motto is no one deserves the scraps of life. But everyone deserves a second chance to do better in life. With the right guidance and if they believe they can, anyone can be a better person.

The founder Debrah French started this Organization by seeing people at her job leave their leftovers from lunch for the homeless. Though she saw the good deed in what they were doing she believe that no one deserves scraps. She started by giving full meals to homeless people that she would see near her job in Los Angeles.

That caring nature later blossomed into NOSU. She believes that a loving family outlook on life can help people who feel no one cares. And that can start with a home-cooked meal and some words of inspiration.
